Our Story
The start of a big dream.
On paper, Brío Homes is practically new. In our hearts, Brío has been around forever.
We attribute this sentiment to the example set by our Founder and CEO, Douglas Martinez. The son of two hard-working entrepreneurs and an entrepreneur himself, Douglas’ determination, enthusiasm, and optimism have always characterized his personal and professional endeavors. In other words, he has been doing things with brío for as long as he has been alive, while injecting a generous dose of brío into everyone he interacts with (including his team!).
You might be asking: What does brío with that accent mark mean? Brío is Spanish for brio in English (surprise, surprise!). It means vigor, determination, energy, dynamic effort.
Our story is about how the word brío doesn’t just describe Douglas’ way of living, but it also honors the Martinez family’s background – it speaks of their history of steadfastness and the legacy they want to leave through Brio Homes.
Douglas and his family were all born and raised in Honduras, a Spanish-speaking country in the heart of Central America. Back in Honduras, the Martinez owned a family business that they managed for 18+ years. During this time, with Douglas’ example and with God by their side, the family developed the brio that has become evident in their lives in the US, the country they now call home.
In 2020, they made their way to the US and started their residential renovation business also known as D & G Investment, LLC. A lot has changed for the family, but one thing has remained constant: their continued trust in God and their willingness to trust his plans and demonstrate brio when faced with difficult times.
Throughout the years, Douglas has led his family with the brío mentality, and he is now leading the company as Founder and CEO in the exact same way.
